Xylia Xu (b.2000) is a photographer, gaffer, DP, and cult film director based in New York City. Holding a BFA degree in Art Photography from Syracuse University, Xylia seeks to blurs the line between reality and fiction, inviting viewers into a surreal world.
With a deep love for cult films and Giallo films, Xylia is heavily inspired by the surreal aesthetic, the interplay of light and shadow, and the exploration of occultism and religion prevalent in these genres. She has seamlessly integrated elements of mystery, suspense, and alluring color palettes into her photographic art, resulting in images that are both captivating and enigmatic.
